good build?

I say get some cheaper ram and go for a 7900GS. I think the 7900GS has the best bang for the buck and you'll really see the difference over a 7600gt.

It all really depends on what you're doing with that hardware. If it's going to be a gaming PC, then yeah, i'd focus a bit more money on the videocard and go with a variant of the 7900 series. If it's a multimedia type PC then the 7600GT would be just fine.

If it is a gaming PC, then may-be consider grabbing just a 1GIG stick now and put more money towards a better videocard. Then later.. pick up another 1GIG stick.

Wow DDR2 800 memory for G.Skill really went up in price, i remember a month ago you could get 2GB DDR2 800 5-5-5-15 timings for $180 and 4-4-4-12 timings for $210 or so. But yea like the other ppl said, if your gamin get a better video card inless ur wantin DX10 when it comes out and thats why your gettin a cheaper video card, then stick with ur choice. idk how good the NF5 chipset is for intel though, it seems to have some good reviews though, i kno the P965 chipset was OCin really well if thats something your goin to do.

well it is for gaming but i wanted to get something that would tide me over till g8s or r600s to come out, i didn't really want to spend much on the card right now. and the mobo i really was looking for a nf590 but those aren't out yet. that was the debate i had with the intel chipset, i didn't know if i wanted to go sli or crossfire, it really depended on how well the new gen cards were going to do.

Well the P965 chipsets are startin to support cross-fire and the 975X which are more expensive support cross-fire and ppl on XS have modded SLI drivers for them too. Its a little more costly for the 975X but u get a really nice board with them too. The DFI infinity 975X and the MSI 975X are good clockers and also i've heard the ASUS 975X Wifi was awsome but that one is like $250+

the 7900gs looks like a great choice agreed, i shall reconsider my options.

i might just go a little cheaper on the board for now so i can wait for the 590s to come out.

Everything looks good, and Asus is a good choice, but do not get that P5NSLI if you plan on using DDR2-800 ram. That board won't post with anything over DDR2-667, you can OC the 667, but it won't post with the 800.
