i wanna get 2 of the SAPPHIRE Toxic 100225TXSR Radeon HD 3870 512MB 256-bit GDDR4 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card, so i can have crossfire, do you reccomend it or no? what is crossfire exactly? im also going to be getting 3 of these for sure though: Pioneer Black 20X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 10X DVD+R DL 20X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 16X DVD-ROM 40X CD-R 32X CD-RW 40X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA 20X DVD±R DVD Burner - OEM

so with that extra info in mind, do you think i will need more than 750W PSU, keeping in mind that i may add another harddrive later on and other stuff?

i will also be overclocking my computer. which one do you reccomend, the C2Q Q6600 or the C2Q Q6700? which one will be able to overclock at a higher GHz? thanks for any feedback in advance!!

p.s. sorry about the other thread. when i posted it, it said page cannot be displayed s i figured it hadnt posted, so i reposted, wont let me delete, so maybe mods can delete that for me, thanks!!

The q6700 will go higher then the q6600 with proper cooling.
Usually the q6600 will be stable at around 3.4ghz-3.6ghz.
The q6700 will go higher then that and be a little more stable.
So its really up to you.

I like the q6600. :p

And if I was you, I'd go with a better video card, I just hate radeons, they seem terrible always, in my opinion.
Some people think otherwise.

Go for the q6600.

The current 38** series cards are great for the money but I would recommend a 790i motherboard and sli'd 9600gt's or (G92) 8800gts's.

Or you can save some bank and go for a 780i or evga 750i FTW board and ddr2 memory.

I was once thinking about the 750I FTW board but after reading about all the video corruptions I chose not to.

can you explain to me why i should get the Q6600, because grinchy said it would go higher as far as GHz. can you link me to the 790i motherboard, and then the graphics card you were talking about, because i looked on newegg and theres so many different 8800gts i dont even know which one would be good. the graphics card your talking about, does it need crossfire or is its performance really good and no need for crossfire? and my last question, will all this do well with that PSU i have chose? Keep in mind that i will be OC my computer and may want to add extra harddrive and will have 3 dvd burners 4 sure.

anybody? i need to find out this information asap

Why 3 dvd burners? Get a Corsair 750TX it will power everything and have PLENTY of cables for everything.

I was once thinking about the 750I FTW board but after reading about all the video corruptions I chose not to.

I have not heard of video corruptions on the 750i FTW board.

EDIT: From nVidia - Video Corruption Answer
From the Article:
NVIDIA is aware of reports of graphical corruption when playing videos with certain platform and graphics card configurations. We have been able to reproduce the issue primarily on nForce 780i platforms. We expect to release a fix for the this platform the week of May 26, followed by updates for other platforms as fixes become available.

This article will be updated when more information is available.

how many dvd burners do you reccomend? 2 or just 1? so im confused. which motherboard do you reccomend i get, as well as the graphics card i should get? i will get that Corsair 750TX.

Well, unless you plan on needing to burn 3 DVD's at once, you won't need that many. You should however probably have 2. That way you can copy from one and directly burn to the other.

Get the 750i motherboard. The issues with video corruption like Fayt mentioned, do not affect the 750i and it will provide a great motherboard for your needs. 2 graphics cards, particularly the 9600GT in SLI would be a very nice complement to that board and build.

heres what i came up with

Newegg.com - RAIDMAX Smilodon Extreme Black ATX-612WEB SECC STEEL ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Computer Cases
Newegg.com - EVGA 132-CK-NF79-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 790i Ultra SLI DDR3 ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards
Newegg.com - Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST31000340AS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - Internal Hard Drives

Newegg.com - Logitech X-530 70 watts RMS 5.1 Black Speaker System - Speakers
Newegg.com - Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound - Thermal Compound / Grease
Newegg.com - U.S. Robotics USR5699B 56Kbps PCI Bus (Plug & Play) Internal Fax Modem - Modems
Newegg.com - Acer P243WAid Black-Silver 24" 2ms(GTG) HDMI Widescreen LCD Monitor with HDCP Support 400 cd/m2 3000:1 ACM - LCD Monitors
either one of these video cards, x2 so i can have SLi, which one would be my best bet to get?

Newegg.com - EVGA 512-P3-N877-AR GeForce 9800 GTX SSC 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards x2 or x2 of this one, whichever one is better:
Newegg.com - XFX PVT96GYDSU GeForce 9600 GT XXX Alpha Dog Eddition 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

i really like the EVGA 512-P3-N877-AR GeForce 9800 GTX. it says the core clock is 770MHz, so will i still be able to overclock it more or is that it's highest?

1. Why are you skimping on the case?

2. Get MX-2 or TX-2 Thermal Paste

3. What cpu?

4. What cpu heatsink?

5. Why do you need a fax modem?

6. Get the 9600gt's

7. Wheres the power supply?
