Default Getting a budget GPU

So, I hear that the Radeon 4850 is a straight up awesome card, but it's a tiny bit out of my price range.

Is there any card that will give me anywhere near the performance/quality of a 4850 for around $30-$50 less? I know this is asking a lot and I'm prepared for a 'not possible' answer, but just let me know guys, thanks!

I know I won't be getting the exact same performance for that much less, but anything at all comparable would be awesome.

Well look at the card right under it ... the 4830.

How comparable is the performance to a 4850?

It's still powerful, hence the 48xx prefix. 48 designates enthusiast, 46 is mainstream, etc...

It is more than enough to play any game you want at very nice settings.

if you OC it nicely, it should give performance as good as (maybe better than) a stock 4850... definitely a solid card for the price range
