Hey guys this is my first post on these forums but one of the first questions I have is regarding a new gaming system I want to build. I was wondering what parts from Newegg.com - Buy Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more! would yield me a gaming computer for 1000 bucks or less. I already have Windows Vista Ultimate so I won't need software. Any advice would be nice .

Thanks,

PS I want best bang for buck I think

Hey Mechtech3000,
Welcome to T.F.!!

Heres parts to consider, for that budget:
Case - Antec 900 or Cooler Master Centurion 5(Cheaper)
Motherboard - Gigabyte P35-DS3R or MSI P6N Platinum or MSI P6N SLI-FI(Cheaper)
CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E6320
RAM - 2 x 1GB G. Skill DDR2-800 HZs
Graphics - EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 320MB
Power Supply - Rosewill RP550 550W
Hard drive - Seagate 7200.10 320GB 16mb cache
Optical drive - Sony NEC Optiarc DVD Burner
Optional aftermarket CPU cooler, if overclocking - Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro

I would go with B1gapl's build and choose the DS3R board and then if you want to spend the extra 20 bucks grab an E6420.

Agreed....the P35 is the better overclocker out of all those motherboards...and the extra money for the e6420, will get you a bit further with the P35, with the higher multiplier it has, compared to the e6320.
