Yeah I agree with you. But the XFX PVT80GGHF4 GeForce 8800GTS 320MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video Card is far too off my budget. Any other better than my suggested radeon x1950xt graphic card under 200dollars range?

Ok, then just get one X1950XT and upgrade to a newer video card next 6 months or 1 year

Crossfire is a waste of money because there will be much faster video cards next year that will kill two X1950XT and they are going to have a lot of newer features....

You can get X1950XT 512MB for similar price to X1950XT 256MB (but after MIR)
Newegg.com - GECUBE HV195XTG3-E3 Radeon X1950XT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video Card - Retail

Or just get the X1950XT, and upgrade later to a 9 series, when you have the money.

edit: Maroon beat me to it.

Is there a Sapphire version for the x1950xt 512mb? And as for the motherboard, is the GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard suggested by marron1 earlier on good to go with the x1950xt 512mb graphic card? Is the intel chipset good compared to nvidia and amd chipsets?

Intel chipsets are pretty good IMO. There is a 512mb version from Sapphire, but it's more money, in which you should just go with the 8800GTS.

By the way the forum keeps requiring me to login when I did not logout and the error message "please lengthen your message by 5 words" keep appearing so this paragraph is just to keep me posting on......nothing to do with my question.

Would you mind posting the link to newegg for the Sapphire 512mb as I cannot seem to find it? I am not interested in the price only wanted to have a look at it.

Oh...I just realized it's not Sapphire. But it's 512mb.

Should I get the Sapphire X1950XT 256MB-$167.99 or the GECUBE 1950XT 512MB at $199.99? I am not convinced of GECUBE as it was unheard by me before. But I am eager for the 512MB at only 30+dollars more and if I buy 2 cross-fire won't that be 1GB at <400dollars? Of course I know the big risk is the brand.

Again...like Maroon said, the memory doesn't matter much. Unless you're playing at really big resolutions. Having double the memory, won't significantly boost performance. Just save yourself the money, and upgrade to a 9 series later.
