Gaming Headset/Sound Card Suggestions?

Well my I7 build is done and I was wondering what you guys would suggest for a gaming headset/sound card? Other than the fact that my DVI port on my Monitor doesn't seem to work so I had to use the HDMI adapter on my GTX 285 everything is working great! Thanks for any suggestions guys! I mainly do gaming but might watch a DVD/Blue ray once in awhile...

Mobo sound is perfectly fine. Unless you have some crazy Bose or better speakers you won't notice a difference between a $150 card and onboard audio.

As for Headsets I've heard Turtle Beach's are good for xbox, so they should have good ones for pc too.

that's not true. you can hear a difference, as long as you have halfway decent speakers.

I would actively avoid BOSE speakers.

Anyway, how much would you spend total?

A good combination is the Xonar DX + Audio Technica AD700's or something.

After having my Xonar D2X and AD900's for a while, I find the Z-5500's to sound very muddy and too heavy on the base.
