Default Gaming Computer - Novice needing help!

Looking to build a new gaming computer with a budget of 1200 (Since this one is trying to kill itself) and am a complete novice at finding parts so would like assistance in getting a build.

Requirements:

Moniter: 20" Minimum
Keyboard that has a back light effect (For midnight gaming sessions)
Speakers (Not particularly bothered aslong as they give decent sound quality, as using headset for gaming)
~1 terrabyte memory (filled about 700 GB on current computer)

Everything else to give best performance for a gaming computer. Thanks in advance.

Intel dropped it because people were buying it and overclocking it instead spending the extra on their "bigger" CPUs. If you can find it, the 920 is the chip to get. Otherwise look into a 950 as the 930 is a crippled 920.

The 930 is the same chip as the 920 just with one higher multiplier. The "crippling" is somewhat of a myth, the chip is the same but it might not be as good as some of the 920's, it all depends on how good the silicon is. There are good batches of 930's as well as 920's, just some of the earlier 920 D0's overclocked very well. You can still push a 930 pretty far (I'm at 4.1GHz on mine and probably could hit 4.2 if I got it right, also depends on cooling).

I would look for the 920 if possible, as it's a proven performer, but the 950 may very well be the best option. It's still hard to tell about the 950 because we just haven't seen that much of it yet, only time will tell. The 930 would be my 3rd choice, there are a lot of "good" 930's but when compared to the 920 there just are not as many "very good" 930's.

i re-did the build on scan.co.uk, which has better prices on some parts, so i was able to squeeze in some better parts for less money

cpu (no 920 available here)
Scan.co.uk: Intel CPU i7 930 Quad Core Processor - BX80601930

motherboard
Scan.co.uk: Asus P6X58D-E Intel X58 1366 Motherboard

ram
Scan.co.uk: Corsair Memory XMS3 Classic 6GB DDR3 PC3-12800 (1600) Triple Channel Desktop - CMX6GX3M3C1600C7

gpu
Scan.co.uk: Palit/XpertVision NVIDIA GTX 470 Graphics Card - NE5TX470F09DA-P1025

case (plus an extra fan for the back, totals 5 fans in this case)
Scan.co.uk: Xclio / Meridian Technology Nighthawk Extreme Black Mid Tower Computer Case - NightHawk
Scan.co.uk: A12025-12CB-3BN-F1 - 120mm Coolermaster Case Fan

psu
Scan.co.uk: Silverstone Tech. Zeus 850 W Power Supply (PSU) - SST-ST85ZF

hdd
Scan.co.uk: 1TB (1000 GB) Samsung Spinpoint F3 Hard Drive - HDD - HD103SJ

optical drive
Scan.co.uk: Samsung SH-S223C/BEBE 22x DVDR, 12x DVDR, DVD+RW x8/-RW x6, SATA, Black, OEM

OS
Scan.co.uk: GFC-00599 - Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit, Single, - OEM

monitor
Scan.co.uk: LG 22" LCD Monitor - W2246S-BF

speakers
Scan.co.uk: Logitech 2.0 Speakers 5 W Sound System - 970264-0120

keyboard
Scan.co.uk: Logitech Gaming Black/ Silver Gaming Keyboard - 920-000375

this build sub-totals to about 1136.

since you would have some extra headroom in your budget, you could actually fit in a nice aftermarket cpu cooler so you can OC that thing.
Prolimatech Intel Copper CPU Cooler
plus a fan for it, same fan i listed for the case above
A12025-12CB-3BN-F1 - 120mm Coolermaster Case Fan
