I need a new build for my brother. his budget is around $1000. he wants it to be a gaming pc, so you know what that means... He will have to present this to some people also, so he wants a good looking case, but a cheap one...he is open minded tho. he is looking for an i7 build btw. looking to get the most for his budget. This is only the build, no need for mouse, keyboard, monitor etc.. just the tower.
-Thank you guys so much!
(i will be responding asap! i want this done in a day or so, as quick as possible so we can put the order in)

i7 is tough to do with $1000, so what farinha has there is as low as you can go for i7. If you want it cheaper, or you want a better video card, then i7 is not feasible. You may need go i5 or Phenom II.

If he goes with a i7 860 he can do it:

Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more! - $426

Newegg.com - G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL7D-4GBRM - Desktop Memory - $110

Don't know much about cases but maybe this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...29066&cm_re=antec_case-_-11-129-066-_-Product - $70

which ends with $975. If you need a SO then i5 is the way to go, or PII. With an i5/PII setup you can get a faster GPU.

This cpu mobo combo knocks off $40: Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!

After the MiR this knocks off $30: Newegg.com - OCZ Gold 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Voltage Desktop Memory Model OCZ3G1600LV6GK - Desktop Memory

This psu shaves off $20 ($10 counting mir but he wasn't): Newegg.com - Antec EarthWatts EA650 650W Continuous Power ATX12V Ver.2.2 / EPS12V version 2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC "compatible with Core i7/Core i5" Power Supply - Power Supplies

Boom under $1000. Power of the computer remains the same. Ram voltage is .05 volts higher but you aren't going to notice it. It is practically exactly the same.

Edit: Oh you need a case?

You're still only less than $40 over budget this way. You'll be orite.

Okay well i really like what you guys suggested, but i am more towards the i7 860 2.8ghz and the gfx card, Radeon HD 4890, because i heard its very good performance for its price. And a 750w power supply for future upgrades.

This is the build i got so far :
Newegg.com - SAMSUNG Black 22X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA DVD Burner - CD / DVD Burners - $19.99
Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive - $74.99
Newegg.com - XFX HD-489X-ZSFC Radeon HD 4890 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards - $192.99
Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply - Power Supplies - $199.99
Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more! - $426.98

-Total: $834.94

-NO CASE SO FAR.-
Im looking for a pretty nice case towards the cheaper side. I did like the farinha posted, (Newegg.com - Antec Three Hundred Illusion Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Computer Cases) but i thought for 70$ i could get a better looking case with good air ventilation as well, i also would fans included with case. want leds.

Also if anyone has any suggestions towards the build or the products i have chosen please feel free to inform im taking all suggestions into mind.
- Thank you guys so much
