haha alright, thanks a lot.

Sorry for the confusion, I'm new to computer hardware. But it's something that I would like to learn a lot more about.

That budget is nowhere near enough you need even for a half decent gaming comp. You say you have $300 for CPU, Video card and mobo?

[B]Mobo[/URL] MSI K8N NEO3-F ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

CPU
AMD Sempron 64 2800+ 800MHz FSB Socket 754 Processor - Retail

Video card
eVGA Geforce 6800XT 256-P2-N381 Video Card - Retail

Total $298.50

Edit: Sorry though u meant for total, if you meant per item then I would recommend

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Dual Core Processor - Retail
$323

eVGA Geforce 7800GT 256-P2-N515-AX Desktop PC - Retail
$275

DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 SLI-DR Expert ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail
$199

NO dude he meens 300$ for the cpu

Then after his next paycheck 300$ video card,
Then 300 dollar mobo,

But you probbobly don't need a mobo over 170$

Basically he has 900$ am i right?

Weringo, isn't that processor just a 2.0GHz? That's what I have in the computer I'm on now.

The high the processor the faster right? Is there really a big difference between something like a 2.0 GHz to a 2.5 Ghz, or a difference between 2.5 Ghz to a 2.8 Ghz?

AMD processors work differently, they proccess more information per clock compared to Intel processers and are generally regarded as better proccessors because they have a better price-performance ratio.

The processor I listed is 2 Ghz but it has dual core. Dual core is the future of gaming as games are starting to be multi-threaded.
