Gaming build HELP

So I'm planing on building a gaming computer I know that I want either a core i-3 or i-5. I want 4gb of ddr3, and I want windows 7.
I plan on doing some gaming and video work like downloading movies playing them on my led tv and stuff like that. I plan on spending about $1000.
If you could PLEASE help me with
motherboard
CPU
Video card
power supply
optical drice/ drives
ram
case
and anything else I'd GREATLY appreciate it

Will you be using that LED TV for this or do you need a monitor as well?

Depending on what CPU you get, you should get either 6GB or 4GB of DDR3 - different CPUs work better with different configurations of RAM, since some work in dual-channel and some in triple-channel.

I'll leave the specific build advice to someone in the US, since I'm uninformed on pricing and such over there.

i plan on using my led till i get a monitor later. since theres not a huge price difference in the i3 and i5 i mines well go with the i5
