Maybe you can squeeze a i5 build in that budget, not sure though. I'll see what I can do.

Asus P7P55D Pro Motherboard - Intel P55, Socket LGA1156, Core i5 at TigerDirect.com - $180
Intel Core i5 750 BX80605I5750 Processor - 2.66GHz, LGA 1156, 8MB L3 Cache, Quad-Core, Lynnfield, Retail at TigerDirect.com - $200
OCZ PC3-12800 Gold RAM - 4GB, 2x2GB, 1600MHz, DDR3, Low Voltage, Dual Channel at TigerDirect.com - $73
Western Digital WD5001AALS Caviar Black Hard Drive - 500GB, 7200 rpm, 32MB, SATA-3G at TigerDirect.com - $65
Samsung TS-H662A DVDRW Drive - DVD+R 22X, DVD+RW 8X, DVD-RW 6X, DVD-RAM 12X, CD-R 48X, IDE at TigerDirect.com - $30
Western Digital WD1001FALS Caviar Black Hard Drive - 1TB, 7200 RPM, 32MB, SATA-300 at TigerDirect.com - $95
XFX Radeon HD 5770 1GB PCIe DDR5 Display Port/HDMI at TigerDirect.com - $180

This will cost you $823 without case. Do you have a old case you can use for awhile? You can get a cheaper build with AMD but I'm no expert on AMD building...

If you get this combo on newegg you'll keep under your budget but without case:

I like your list Muffin Man. Sorry but the list needed a case. It's for a friend and he prefers tiger direct for whatever reason and I'm not about to argue. I personally hate tiger direct but I think we save money because we pay taxes when ordering from newegg in our state. Idk, in any case +reps to the both of you.

The case only comes with one 120mm fan, I think you should buy another.

Also, I think you should get a 5770 instead of the 4890 . Theres a step down in performance, but you get DX11, so it'll be better in the future. Check out this thread for more info 4890 or 5770?
