G80 Line question

Soon enough, i'll be buying a G80 line card, but I'm also wanting a new monitor, specifically, the 22" by Sceptre.

My question is: Would it be better to buy the 8600 Ultra (512 mb), or the 8800GTS 320mb?

Keep in mind, I don't care about uber benchmark score, I just want to be able to run games smoothly. Thanks

i say the 8800gts 320mb version in resolutions under 1600x1200 it performed teh sae if not better then the 8800gts cause bfg super overclocked the gpu of the 320mb version

is the xfx version of the 8800gts 320mb better then the bfg as it costs 20 pounds more?
