Default FX-60 Thermal Solution

I'm looking for the heatsink/thermal pad requirements for the AMD Athlon 64 FX60. I looked on the amd web site and they only had up to FX-57. whats the deal?

probably just an outdated arcticle, any heatsink and thermal pad that works with the Fx-57 should work with the Fx-60

im curious do you alredy have it? , an overclocked opteron 165/175 will perform same & even better+will save you alot of $$ , anyway i recommend thermalright si-120+silverstone 120mm adjustable (with speed controller)

wont help much , it will only lower it by 4 or so degrees , the heatsink/fan is what really matters , the thermal paste barely make a diffrence

when you buy the FX-60 it comes with a heatsinkfan and a thermal pad already on it.

if you want to get fancy and get it cooler then you can get an aftermarket fan and thermalpaste like as5.

I run my FX60 with an Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 PRO with the thermal pad and get about 43 C idle. If I used AS5, it may drop to 40C, not sure.

Just remember that by using an aftermarket cooler, you void AMDs warranty.
