Default Function Keys?

So I've been looking at some keyboards as I just built my gaming computer and I've come across a few that look good. I've heard the Saitek Eclipse is a nice one and I was about to buy it when I realized it only has 4 function keys. Now I'm not a hardcore gamer (yet) haha, but it seems that almost every other keyboard out there has 12, 17, or more function keys. So what's the deal? Is there something I'm missing? I really need to order a keyboard soon...my computer is going to be here on monday.

Thanks!

HAHA thank you for clearing that up! Your diagram is fricken hilarious, me and my friends were laughing for a few minutes when we saw it. But Newegg must have a typo or something because I swear it says it only has 4...

The 4 function keys they're talking about are the ones in the top-right corner: the volume down, volume up, mute, and light switch.
