Default Friend's Computer

My friend has $1000 to spend on a computer that hopefully can play Battlefield 2 on high with a fps above 40. Is it possible? He doesn't need a monitor, keyboard, or mouse. The cheaper the better.

Then pick out a good quality case with a good 450 - 500watt PSU.

That should run BF2 on maxed settings with well into 90FPS.

Make sure you don't skimp out on the PSU. You will need a GOOD PSU to run that video card and 64-bit system well.

^^ Everything except the Hard Drive was wrong about that system, lol. And I'm not just saying that since I now have competition.

Why, thank you John.

ya green's system is good. if that guy cares more about fps than overall computer performance, he could downgrade that opteron to a san diego and upgrade the 7600gt to a 7900gt.

but for overall computing performance, i'd take green's.

lol, if he wants to play battlefield 2, a single core + 7900gt will get better frames than a dual core + 7600gt, and ram is your choice, i just picked a common brand because it was quick
