Hey, my friend's looking to buy a new PC(from newegg) and he sent me a list of parts that he's looking on getting. Since i'm not entirely confident on my sole opinions I figured i'd get a bit of help from you guys :p. So here it goes. I think he's intent on getting Intel/Nvidia so something to keep in mind.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor

ASUS P5N32-SLI Premium/WiFi-AP LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI ATX Intel Motherboard

ASUS EN8800GTS/HTDP/640M GeForce 8800GTS 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video card

CORSAIR XMS2 1GB (2 x 512MB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory

(x2) Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 250GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

ENERMAX All in One Noisetaker Series EG701AX-VE SFMA(24P) 600W Power Supply

LG Black 16X DVD-ROM 52X CD-R 32X CD-RW 52X CD-ROM 2M Cache IDE Combo Drive

seems ok cept a few things

1st i would def. get a 16mb cache hd.
2nd go for some gskill ram i have not heard good things bout the xms.(if not o/c xms will do fine)
3rd go for a different mb if not using sli eg gigabyte ds3

I'd go with thirdleft152's suggestion, with the motherboard, being the DS3.
