I want a 6800GS and my current PSU is a 300W no-name one. It has something like 8 amps on a single 12V rail. So I'm thinking that won't run a 6800GS very well. Also may be why my overclocks suck. Bad power. I can only get my 2.4 P4 to 2.6. From what I've seen even a bad overclocker should do better than that.

How much power given to your cpu is determined by your motherboard. Maybe its because you specific stepping or your motherboard is not capable.

the efficiency is kinda low. only 70%.

I have that exact same one and its solid as a rock. It should be enough for a 6800GS as well as the rest of your system. The 450W is a bit more powerful, but I'm pretty sure this will do also. Those are some of the best powersupplies on the market in the 300W-500W areas.
