hey everyone -- hope youre all having a great end to the weekend :)

I just wanted to see if you guys had any recommendations for a problem that I've been having recently. Over the last few months I've become a slave for high resolutions (720...1080) movies and tv shows. The quality is amazing and I just built a brand new computer with a e8500 and an ati hd 4870 with 2 gigs of ram, so everything runs like a dream.
I have a samsung syncmaster that is beautiful also so everything looks real good. but for some reason on these videos when I play them the center of the video seems to have a lag...or like a flicker or something when theres movement in the video.... i think it may have something to do with the screen refresh rate but i thought maybe someone could give me better insight into it....thanks in advance hope to hear from you guys soon!!

You can try and raise the refresh rate on your monitor.
go into control panel > Display > Settings > Advanced > Monitor.

Anything over 65/70Hz should be okay. If you raise the refresh rate and still get a flicker, try and re-install the drivers for you card and hopefully that will fix it :)
