Its basically installing a new BIOS for you system. It can be useful if you want to update to a better version of the BIOS. It can be dangerous. If you screw up or put the wrong or an incompatable BIOS in you're pretty much fu*ked.

what exactly do you mean? its hard to understand if you ask how to get it done or whats the benefits of updating it , well ill answer both , bios updating improves cpu/ram compatability and sometimes fixes minor stability issues

basicly you can update it via windows or dos (by using a bootable floppy/cd) , overall its safer to update from dos

if you got a floppy drive
download this
http://www.dfi.com.tw/Upload/BIOS/NF4LDB14.EXE
and follow instructions http://www.dfi.com.tw/Support/mb_faq_us1.jsp?FAQ_ID=3042&PAGE_TYPE=US&SITE=US

if you dont have a floppy drive or got no floppy disks at the moment
i made an iso file , http://www.upload2.net/download2/Lrp31dxaramRQ1S/nf4d.rar.html just burn it (as disc image of course ,not as data) and boot from it , instructions are nearly same as the link above except the obvious which is you should boot from the optical drive and not from the floppy :D

edit forgot to mention, better check whats your current bios version before you update as its possible you alredy have the latest
