I'm new to building my own computer so some of these questions might be a little noobish. First off here's the parts I'm probably going to install.
ASUS P6T Motherboard - LGA 1366, Intel X58, SATA, SLI Ready, CrossFireX Ready, Triple Channel DDR3 support, RAID, Hyperthreading support
Intel Core i7 960 OEM Processor AT80601002727AA - 3.20GHz, 8MB L3 Cache, 4.8GT/s QPI, HyperThreading, Quad Core, Bloomfield, LGA 1366(0.25 lbs)
Corsair XMS3 Tri Channel 12GB PC10666 DDR3 Memory - 1333MHz, 12288MB (6 x 2048MB)(0.85 lbs)
Visiontek 900305 Radeon HD 5970 Video Card - 2GB GDDR5, PCI-Express 2.0, CrossFireX Ready, Dual DVI, Display Port, HDMI(4.2 lbs)
Creative Labs 70SB088600002 SoundBlaster X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty Pro PCIe Sound Card(1.75 lbs)
Western Digital WD1001FALS Caviar Black Hard Drive - 1TB, 7200 RPM, 32MB, SATA-300(2 lbs)
Pioneer BDR-205 Blu Ray Burner - 12x BD-R, 12x BD-R DL, 2x BD-DE, 16x DVD+-R, 6x DVD-RW, 8x DVD+RW, 8x DVD+-R DL, 16x DVD-ROM, 40x CD-R, 24x CD-RW, 40x CD-ROM, SATA(2.3 lbs)
Cooler Master HAF 932 Full Tower Black Case(34 lbs)
Corsair TX750W 750-Watt Power Supply - ATX, 140mm Fan, SLI-Ready, SATA-Ready, 80Plus(7.05 lbs)
Intel SSDSA2MP040G2R5 X25-V Solid State Drive - 40GB, SATA, 2.5", Retail(0.7 lbs)
VisionTek 900317 Bigfoot Networks Killer 2100 Gaming Network Card - 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet, Plug and Play, RJ-45, PCIe(0.5 lbs)
So my questions are first will this build work together? Are there any glaring issues that I've missed? Also I'm thinking of upgrading the cpu to the i7 980x Extreme, is this upgrade worth it? Should i buy two radeon hd 5970s? I'm want to use my home theater surround system and av receiver for the sound so do I need the sound card? And is the network gaming card worth the money? Thanks for any help.
