I am looking to build a PC that I can upgrade in the future.
I want to run a AMD Quad Core - overclockable.
I would like to have a motherboard that I can in the future be run CrossFire or SLI.
I am looking to run a evga or msi grapics card.
I would like to try to keep this current build under $500.

Any suggestions will be welcomed with open arms.
I am a student at the University of South Carolina majoring in Computer Engineering, so I can't currently afford to spend what I would like to, but I would like to build something I can add to and upgrade later.

and a graphics card

thanks alot i will consider these in the parts list i have compiled over the last week!

I am building another pc for a friend and these are the components. They are currently on the way to his house what do you think?

PSU: Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus Series 500W ATX12V V2.3 Active PFC Power Supply

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200 500 GB 7200RPM SATA 3Gb/s 16MB Cache 3.5 Inch Internal Hard Drive

CPU: AMD CPU HDZ955FBGMBOX Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz AM3 125W

RAM: Corsair XMS3 8 GB 1333 MHz PC3-10666 240-Pin DDR3 Memory Kit CMX8GX3M2A1333C9

MOBO: ASUS M4N75TD - AM3 - GF750a - DDR3 - ASUS Core Unlocker - ATX Motherboard

Case: Thermaltake V4 Black Edition SECC/Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case VM30001W2Z

Graphics: EVGA 01G-P3-1452-TR GeForce GTS 450 (Fermi) Superclocked 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16

These came to a grand total of $514 dollars I believe. What do you think do you think they will be sufficient. He doesn't do much on the computer just also wants to play the Witcher 2.

Sorry I don't have any links.

Do NOT use a Cooler Master PSU! Look at the PSU guide and educate yoruself on what is good and what is trash. A bad PSU will kill a system as well as the components in it. Trust me on this one.

The rest looks good. I would go with a WD Black drive instead of the Seagate and 1600 RAM over the 1333, though.

thanks I actually order a Thermaltake TR2 W0388RU 600W ATX 12V v2.2. I would personally go with the faster ram and the WD Black, but like I said this is for a friend who doesn't really use it much at all.
