I'd suggest you keep to the 960T vs the X4 970.
while the X970 is clocked higher, 3.5 vs 3.0 for 960T, the 960T has better memory controller. and it'll be very easy to increase the clock speed on the 960T to 3.5 Ghz since it is an unlocked processor. not only that, the 960 will run cooler as well.

Hello Hello Hello, I have taken everyone's suggestions and have come up with my final build (I think) as long as everything is compatible haha, so please look over it, feel free to call me an idiot if something isn't compatible (don't worry, I wont take too much offense to it lol)

Grand Total - $1142 (I am okay with not reaching $1500, more money saved, the better)
Grand Total after rebates - $882

I want to thank everyone for their time in helping me decide on the components for my first build, as long as nothing is incompatible or a very poor decision on parts because I am not as knowledgeable, this is probably the setup I am going to go with. Like I said before, please feel free to call me an idiot if I screwed up on something, otherwise leaves your comments on how well you think it'll turn out

Thanks again!

Once the list is finalized, FINALIZED, I will begin my journey to getting all the components and going from there, I'll make sure to keep everyone informed!
