After 6 days of forum reading, getting help from you guys i finally chose all the parts and hope this to be a great system. I built it base don a balance of High end gaming experience/future proofing the best i could. Plan on keeping this for quite a while so the quad core may be slower than a e8500, but itl be worth it in the long run i hope.

(Wonder what type of 3dmark06 i will get)

Any Seagate Barracuda is a great hdd though, ive had my 300GB version 2 years now and its going strong, and its so quiet.

Awesome spec by the way, enjoy!

You -should- get around 18-19k 3dmark depending on how much you overclock. Thats a lot of power supply...you planning on going quad sli?

Hey veedubfreak, I am going to be building a system almost identical to yours and melioz's. Only I'm keeping it to one 9800GX2 and a Q6600. I'm using a Xigmatek cooler with the same memory as you. Different motherboard. I'm getting an Asus x38 board. The parts should be here today or tomorrow and I'm excited to see what it can do. My last customer's build I just finished is more of the mid-range and it already looks amazing on Call of Duty 4 and Crysis with just the 9600GT and 2GB of G. Skill memory and an E6550 C2D. Non-overclocked it gets about a 10,000 3dmark06 score, so I can't wait to see what I get with this next build.

I would change one or two things. the number one being that hdd. but other than that, nice build

that psu is overkill unless you plan to go quad sli(edit which now i see you are going to)

could have gotten a .11 hdd (32mb cache)

other then that a good build...have fun with it
