An average card? The 8800GTS 320mb pulled 10k with Apokalipse's 6000+.

I agree but you gotta remember at the moment things are stepping up big time due to the release of multi-cores and Vista at almost the same time so buying just before the big-name DX10.1 games come out is probably not a great idea for future proofing because with these DX10.1 games will come new technology (ie. 9xxx series)
