If money is no object the QX9770 is the fastest.

but a 190 dollar Q6600 can overclock well past 3.2ghz

Yeah, as far as price/performance is concerned the Q6600 is the best.

yeah you sure can, but its a ridiculously expensive CPU and very few if any games are CPU limited at the moment, its far better to spend money on a gpu

Let me ask you this, in your profile, you are listing the speed of your processor as 3.64 Mhz. Isn't that faster than the Quad Core 3.2 Mhz?

It is ghz wise , but the Q6600 has 2 more cores, its a quad core.

Pretty much all of us have our CPU overclocked. I personally run mine at 3.6ghz.

Dont waste your money on a qx9770. I love mine, OCed to 4.5ghz daily, but wish i would have settled for a en e8500 or similiar, and put the money toward other things.
