or samsung spinpoints - theyre awesome hard drives. the problem with 10K drivees are the lack of space - you have to be certain that you have a way of storing your media somewhere else, since a full HDD wont be very fast, even in a RAID array.
Not to mention that the raptors are going on 3 years old now, and there have been lots of advances when it comes to 7200 rpm drives. Most 7200 rpm drives are within 10% of the performance of a raptor with tons more space and no where near the price.
They're good, i know ive got one, but they are last generation compared to the 7200.11 drives. the Spinpoint F1 drives are the current generation samsung drives.
