Fan or Heatsink for Motherboard

Which is better to have. Most have heatsinks but DFI's have fans. Also why are copper heatsinks better?

DFI's actually have both,The fan is a heatsink too,And copper dissipate's heat much better than other material's.

Other companies use heatpipes so they don't need a fan; they just use the air from the CPU cooler.

If you're not overclocking try to get a mobo with no fan and just a heatink. why? no moving parts = less things to fail on ya = longer lifespan of technology

if you are overclocking, well, then you WANT a fan because you're pumping more voltage into the chipset therefore you want active cooling to keep it low on the temps.

Might want a fan too if you know you're gonna be operating in a hot/humid environment.
