So I am going to buy some new fans for my computer. What should the setup be to get the best airflow and cooling? I mean, should it be air in through front fan, and side, out the back? etc. I know I have been really stupid at this and let my computer get too hot. (I just saw the sensor the other day above 45 degrees C. Also..what should be a good range for max performance?

Anything up to 50C isn't bad. Keeping your computer below that is not easy on air.

You shouldn't have any problems at 45C. The lower the better, however.

I am assuming that the 45C is under load. If it is at idle, that is not good. At idle, it should be somewhere around 20C.

What is your signature?

I built my computer about a year and a half ago...so it's really outdated now. I plan on upgrading again this summer.

And is there a program that I can monitor the temp? I use Lavalys for all of my configuration, benchmarking, etc. But I am looking for a program that I could just minimize into the taskbar next to the other quick icons....
