Post Extra budget for gaming rig...

Recently i discovered that i had around an extra $500 left on my budget, so rather than spend it on games i figured it would probably be better to try and 'future proof' my computer.

This is what i concluded would be the build...

CPU [+$308]
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz

MOBO [+146]
ASUS P5B-E LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel

RAM [+$180]
G.SKILL 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

GPU [+$370]
EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 640MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video Card

HD [+$85]
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10

OD [+$32]

PSUPPLY [+$129]
CORSAIR 520W Power Supply 100 - 240 V

CASE [+$50]

MONITOR [+160]
Hanns•G HW-191APB Black 19" 5ms Widescreen LCD

SCARD [+80]
X-Fi XtremeGamer

So with an extra $500 i was wondering what i should probably look at upgrading, or changing to try and 'future proof my build' (more in terms of gaming).

(btw, my current price is $1600 and i can go as high as $2100)

wow a build that actually has nothing to change to be excellent...and is pretty much what we would suggest.
good job, buy it.
although....i would buy a bigger monitor if i had 500 extra dollars.
thats just me, tho. you did a good job.

I was thinking maybe something like going SLI? with two 8800gts, 320mb
but then i guess i would have to look at a new mobo, prob new case, and better cooling

I guess my alternative is to go with a 8800 GTX and get some decent cooling for overclocking?

However, with the added cooling, such as the CPU coolers, i hear they often don't fit inside the case, would that be a problem with the current set up shown?

Personally, I'd go for the 8800GTX, a different case, a corsair 620w, and a water system.
