External enclosure and hard drive compatibility

I have purchased a Rosewill (RX358 V2) external enclosure so I can add a new hard drive. The enclosure is a 3.5" SATA to USB 2.0 & eSATA. I plan to buy a Western Digital 1 TB 7200 HDD and have noticed on the Newegg site that some customers have mentioned that they ordered a SATA II 3.0 GB/s drive and they got a SATA III 6.0/s GB version. My question concerns the compatibility of the 6.0 version drive to the enclosure that I already have. I would think that the only issue would be that the electronics in the enclosure will not move data faster than 3.0GB/s. Is there any way to know in advance if there will be compatibility issues when I purchase a new drive?

Thanks in advance for any information,

Tom

Should be fine. SATA III is backwards compatible with SATA II; will just run at the slower speed. Although, you're going to be restricted by the USB 2.0 transfer speed, so either way it doesn't matter.

As long as the enclosure can handle 1TB drives (some can't handle 1TB and larger), you'll be fine.
