I have a line to get the 780i for under $190. My E8400 doesn't like my 680i board even with the P32 bios update and, for me, this chip runs hotter than **** on this mobo! Have I just punked myself or should I just hang on to what I have? I realize that the 750i does essentially the same thing but this board 780i would actually cost less than the 750i and, yes, I need SLi.

If you can pick it up for a good price. The 750i FTW has solid caps and a little better chipset cooling, but the 780i has all the bells and whistles. And the third pci-e slot.

$185. Is that sufficiently low enough to warrent the change?

If you have a 680i LT yes, if you have an A1, not so much. The 780i is basically a 680i A1 with pci-e 2.0 and support for 45nm. But for 185, i'd probably go for it.

My Abit AW9D-Max had all solid caps nearly 2 years ago...

For any enthusiast motherboard that should be gimme.

Fscking foxconn...
