Default Evga 6600GT Question

Do you guys think that card would be able to play all the latest games of today with the resolution of 1280x1024 aka this monitor:

Yes, it can play all of todays games, not going to be able to have much of the eye candy on, but you should be able to play everything

yeah, it'll play all of the games that are currently out. You just won't be able to crank them up with all the pretty goods on it.

Yes it will unlock just as much eye candy as any other card on the market today, except for the fact that you won't get great FPS resulting in you needing to turn off some of the eye candy.

Just a more complicated version of what others were saying

I have a 6600GT and it hasnt let me down yet, you will be satisfied with its performance to price.

If you can shell out the extra $25 sure go with the 6800, but if you can shell out $25 you can shell out $25 more and get the 6800GS which can beat the 6800GT which costs ~$125 more than the 6600GT to start with.

The 6600GT plays BF2 at max on 1280x1024 with 4xAA at 30-40FPS. Other games will get lower FPS. Call of Duty 2 would get maybe 20-30FPS, and FEAR would probably get 10-20FPS. But these are MAX settings, you can easily turn of AA and probably double your FPS.

6800GS is an excellent idea, and an excellent card for $150.
