2 overclocked cards vs a stock card on very few games that are geared to run SLI pretty well. When you come across a game that doesn't support SLI as good as those you are going to tank in performance. Not only that, but I don't trust the legitamicy of those reviews considering the fact that I saw a 670 beating a 680 in one of their tests.
You also have to think of this, most of the stuff they showed you were 3dmark. Those always almost fully utilize SLI and don't hold any value to real world gaming.
