E8500 vs Q6600

there won't be much of a difference really. The GPU determines performance in todays games.

I am going for an E8500 just because it's something new and I want to surpass the magic 4.0ghz barrier for a daily OC (hopefully 4.4-4.6ghz).

4.5ghz is where the barrier seems to start for mine.. once i hit 4.5 it wants massive voltage

9450s are down to under 300 bucks now.

im used to AUS prices xD, my usa ones r lil outadate sorry.

theres a difference between a "budget" chip and a quad. And actually at this point, the price of a q6600 is worth the extra 100 bucks over a "budget" chip. 200 bucks for a q6600 is a steal compared to a 2180.

thats exactly right, with the exception of being on a very low budget. (like i was)
