I went with the e8400 everyone,mainly because i saw that e8400 deal krazyput out ..

oh,and although quads are more useful in multi-threaded apps, im a gamer mostly. And from the reviews i read the e8400 prevails overall in terms of fps [besides crysis for some reason.((vs a q6600 at 3.6))]

the e8400 is the fastest but the q6600 is more future proof...and wins imo.
but its your choice and the e8400 is not a bad choice.

I honestly do not believe that you are going to see a huge improvement. You will see some, but it is up to you for whether it is worth putting the extra money out or not.
