You dont need to have a floppy to update BIOS on new mobos now. Here's the link that goes to your mobo . Obviously follow the NVIDIA system update tool and ignore the floppy section.680i BIOS

if the readings are correct, order some Artic silver 5 and reseat the heatsink with that instead. I would say its something to do with your motherboard, so just look through your BIOS and see what options you have that may be relevent.
