Default e6600 or 64 X2 6000

they are both under 230 dollars or will be very soon so for gaming dvd burning downloading and dual monitors which would you choose. and how close are they.

i have looked at benchmarks but you cant really get a good feel for it like you can from people that have tested both or have had experiences with both.

I think the e6600 will be better, especially when you overclock. More cache too, even though cache doesn't make much of a difference.

well it depends on the person really...
e6600 using 65nm technology, low power comsumption (65w) and overclockable.

X2 6000 still using 90nm technology, high power cumsumption (125w WOW) and only small overclock if lucky.

explains itself really...

E6600 will OC 3.5ghz+ and at those speeds no AMD can touch one.

No, the 6000+ is 89W
Anyway, with the prices as they are now, the 6000+ would be better
For me, a 6000+ costs AU$321 and an E6600 costs $438

which I don't think is far off the release for K10

Anyway, for those who already have an AM2 board, the 6000+ looks like a very nice upgrade at this price.

If they were the same price then E6600 would be much better because E6600 is more overclockable and cosumes half the power of 6000+

If you overclock though...even at those prices the E6600 is better for the money than the X2 6000.

An E6300 will overclock and beat one quite easily..an X2 6000 would have a hard time beating mine even with a decent OC of 3.22ghz.

Still...at those prices you can go either way. I right now would choose AMD 3600 and OC it to 3.0ghz for 75 bucks haha but thats me.

lol sora and your dam 3600 lol woot jus kiddin bro
a 6000 looks rippin on paper, though.
if the dollar figure is within 50 bucks or so, c2d is hands down the winner.
between e6600 and x2 6000 is a no-brainer, unless you are totally commited to amd (like me, lol) and hoping that k8l really is a winner.
