Why doesn't Intel adopt a PR rating like AMD has? it's much simpler.

PR rating has noting to do with performance

The new E4500 outperforms E6300 and E6320, and it performs on par with E6400 even though it has lower PR rating

Yes it does. 6000+ is faster than 5600+, which is faster than 5200+, which is faster than 5000+, which is faster than 4800+ etc etc....

Intel doesn't have a PR rating. They use a different kind of naming system.

amd confues the crap outta n00bs, well it used to with their amdX2 5600+,according to the guide i would need a p4 running at 5.6ghz to match that how impossible is that??

AMD and ATI naming chemes are too complicated for n00bs luckily i know what al the numbers mean

PLUS, Intel has many different core types: conroe, allendale, etc. which cannot be crossreferenced without a ratio being applied.

AMD is pretty much just one... You have the single X2 series or FX which all perform equally when match GHz (amd's PR logics)

AMD's PR rating is not based on Pentium 4's. It's comparing their own processors to each other.

6000+ is faster than 5600+, which is faster than 5200+ etc etc..

It was initially meant for the P4s. But as they out grew the P4 correlation, they decided NOT to change the PR, which would actually further "confues the crap outta n00bs"

No, it was never meant for the P4's. It was actually based on AMD's own Thunderbirds.

but i don't think the rating is actually good for Intel, some lower end series... like the e4500 could beat a e6300 both at stock speeds.. like maroon mentioned
