is there much difrence between these 2 cards i can get the e6400 for about £100 cheaper all im going to be doing is Gaming

will the E6400 played games well 2 or 3 years from now do you think and is the E6400 better then the amd x2 5000?

Yes the E6400 is better then the X2 5000. You can get the E6400 and just overclock it.

i dont overclock stuff am scared ill blow something up lol
think ill get the E6400 and save some money rather then getting the E6600

I am getting the 6400. It is almost impossible to "blow something up" overclocking. Read a little more into it and you will understand. The 6400 is an overclocking monster.

First things first, The C2D had to be MADE to OC.
And you can get about 2.5 or 2.6ghz on your E6400 EASILY with stock cooling no worry. Actully I've heard 3.0ghz+ on stock cooling with an E6300 but thats pushing it. trust me You can OC an E6300 with stock cooling to about 2.5 easy, then it will beat an AMD FX-62. All for about 1/3rd the price.

OC is very simple when you have something as this, as well as if you dont try to go crazy on stock cooling like 3.0+ it wont "blow up"

I would just buy the E6300 save yourself a bit of money. The E6400 and E6300 were built almost the same, just the 6300 ran a little bit hotter probably and they downclocked it to make it SUPER stable.

Even if you dont take mine and everyone elses advice and you decide not to use the amazing OC potential, then just get the E6400 and be done with it. But I HIGHLY suggest you OC just a tiny bit.

i just got my e6400 and oced it to 3.2ghz and it booted windows fine and so far i havnt had anycrashes in any games. im using a zalman 9500 for cooling but im sure u can do the same on stock. I only raised my vcare voltages from 1.325 to 1.35 lol. i remember on my 3700 i had to raise the vcore to over 1.5v just to make it somewhat stable at 2.8ghz. this processor is amazing. although make sure u have ddr800 ram or the crucial 10th anniversary ddr667 ram.

hmmm i've heard rumors of some idiot OC'ing their 6300 to 3.8 lol But the x6800 has everything unlocked(you can basically do whatever you want to it except marry it)

I remember that Idiotec on this forum, a few months back, got his E6300 to 3.7Ghz.

Anandtech also did a review in which they had a E6300 on 3.72Ghz.

UT-44, where are you ordering that from>=?

I am ordering from www.pcspecialist.co.uk
