I have the E6300 and wanted to know if the features of the E6400 warrent an upgrade. I have heard that it overclocks much better than the E6300. BTW, I have 2 gigs of DDR2 800 on a Gigabyte S3d mobo.

If you're going to upgrade, you should just go for an e6600. The e6300 and e6400 owns anyway. Or you could sell the e6300 and get the e6400.

Doesn't overclock any better than the E6300, maybe an extra 100Mhz or so because of the higher beginning clockspeed. And the only "feature" of the E6400 is the 2.13Ghz clockspeed, over the 1.86Ghz of the E6300.

A higher multiplier just by itself does not mean better overclocking. A higher multi only helps if the FSB has been maxed out, but the processor can still go higher. That is not often the case, as with most decent motherboards, you can push the FSB far enough that the processors runs out of room before the FSB does.

Thanks all. I'll stick with the E6300 for now and invest money in a 8800 video card instead. :)
