You're actually right. I forgot about that aspect of the chipset. So it's positive that they won't be making DDR2 versions? That would be a horrible decision not to though. I read some rumors, but they're just rumors.
the point of making a x48 chipset is to have it support ddr3. and there is no point buying a ddr3 board now when the next socket is going to be ddr3 only and u will have to buy another board then. if your going to upgrade to ddr3 wait till nahalem.
