I'm guessing those will overclock really well, with that high multiplier. Maybe they're priced higher, because they just got them in stock, and it's not in demand yet?

these have been out in the UK for quite awhile now and have shown to be EXCELLENT budget C2D chips. They have all been hitting 3.2-3.4ghz....however for some reason these chips seem to run very hot.

BTW here is a very nice chart showing all the budget chips at identical clock levels and the same FSB speeds:

Maybe they run a little hot, because they need a little extra juice to get to those speeds.

Those are waiting chips I think. Those are the chips you would use on a lower budget build that wanted to use LGA 775 but not a lot of money. For instance if you went C2D right now and want a Quad in July you can save some money.

The X2 3600 is still better for the money though since not only is the chip 20 bucks cheaper, a good overclocking mobo is also cheaper. Plus the X2 3600 runs a lot cooler than those new Allendales.
