Default DVI cable question

My new Samsung 940b is on it's way, it will be plugged into a 7800GT. I don't know much about DVI, but I have a cable at work that is from a ViewSonic VP201b. The brand is Unixtar. Is this a good cable or should I go buy a $80 one from a computer store? I don't mind buying a new one if it will be better than the free one from ViewSonic.

I'd use the one that costs nothing... I don't care if that cables made out of diamonds. There's no reason to pay $80 for a cable.

The free cable I have is single link. Would I see improved graphics with the double link?

Your call but unless you want HD quality TV like pictures I don't think it is worth your money at the time. Just out of curosity I used the DVI cable that came with our TV and used it for the monitor. Couldn't tell much of a difference.
