1080p is limited by HDMI connections, actually. I don't think you can actually achieve it through others. 1080 lines interlaced is possible through DVI, as is anything lower.

Just to clear some confusion about HD DVD's, they will NOT play in a computer CD-ROM drive. You need a HD DVD player for them, or a BLU-RAY player.
