I was originally getting this SATA drive
Newegg.com - SAMSUNG Black 20X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 16X DVD+R DL 20X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA 20X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe - CD / DVD Burners

but this IDE one
Newegg.com - LITE-ON Black 20X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R DL 20X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache IDE 20X DVD±R DVD Burner - CD / DVD Burners

is dirt cheap! Almost $15 cheaper than the Samsung one.

Is the IDE one that bad that I should get the SATA drive?
I'm probably not going to upgrade my comp for at least 2, probably more than that.
I want to cut down on things like DVD Burners and cases so I can spend more money on PSU and RAM.

I heard IDE drives are significantly more louder and slower.
But only difference between these two drives seems to be.... the price.

Thank you for reading!

EDIT: I am most likely not going to use the LightScribe feature on the Samsung one.

And ric0h, if u make one more thread about buildS or components, im....im....gonna get vernon to ban you with his hammer, ask ur questions in one thread, that way it doesn't clutter the forum with thing's that could have been asked in ONE THREAD :) .

I'd think this applies to you too

there is nothing wrong with IDE drives
louder and slower?
I don't know where you got that from
my ide is quieter than my sata one

the only reason we all suggest SATA is because of the IDE cable size,
its HUGE! and blocks air blow
makes it harder for wire management

some may argue IDE cable is slower as in it have lower bandwidth than SATA cable
true
but we don't even saturate the bandwidth of IDE cable yet.

I don't think there are any problems with IDE drives but personally I think its a waste to put so much bandwidth on a optical drive and you can buy some IDE cables that the wires are all wrapped up into a single round cable.

EDIT:here

yep, I'd only pick SATA for the Wire Management
