DVD to AVI File Converting

I want to take a few of my DVD's and make them into AVI files. An easy google search and I can find 50 different softwares. However do you guys know of any good programs that I should use? Possibly one that supports quad core

Use DVDShrink to rip and AutoGK to convert to avi.
