Default Duel CPU motherboards

Hi there i was just wandering if anyone knew anything about duel CPU motherboards since i recently found out the computers at my work have 2 CPUs working together at the time of purchase the computers cost them quite alot but i was just wandering how you would get hold of something like this not because i am updating my computer but just out of general interest.

First off you mean "Dual"

Secondly, those are generally considered Server class.
Newegg.com - Server Motherboard, Dual Socket Motherboard, Quad Socket Motherboard, Intel Server Motherboard

If you'll look by the CPU Socket bracket subheading you can see "Dual _____" socket motherboards.
There are also some enthusiast dual cpu motherboards Intel made one called Skulltrail, I don't know what AMD's equivalent is.
