I don't doubt the power of dual Centrinos seeing as how my alpha laptop performs well with a 1.5Ghz Centrino, but I still say gaming is better left to the desktop powerhouse machines.

I also say gaming is best on desktops but I was just saying that you shouldn't jump the gun because Intel has shown it has made an even more efficient proccessor then AMD, a 3GHz dual core Duo beat out a 3.4GHz AMD FX-60 in gaming.

It shocks me too (even though I'm an Intel fan) since i was told the Centrino Duo has flaws in its workings.

ahhh they overclocked the $hi+ out of that thing did they? i thought the duos only went as far as just over 2.0ghz? the Pentium D 3.0ghz will perform almost idenitically to your current cpu aside from you may get less lag because it will help stop stuff like virus scans interfering with your gaming
