Dual psu do or dont ?

5870s sips power compared to fermi
750TX could run 5870 crossfire or go with the Corsair 850TX if you are overclocking (newer, and I hear its overall, better quality)

The HX 850 is the new one, not the TX.

I don't understand how an ide controller would die. I would understand maybe if two different power supplies were used on one piece of hardware. Say two power supplies on the same board, one hooked up to a EPS and the other to a 24pin otherwise it would make no difference as running a regular power supply alone.
