Dual Monitor Question

G'day, I am attempting to run dual monitors with my 7900 GTX but I am having a major problem. One is a widescreen LCD TV and the other is simply a normal 17". The resolution on the widescreen is best at 1440x900 whereas the other is 1280 x 720, is there anyway I can independently set them. Also when I try to use a long horizontal span the LCD TV goes crazy and flickers etc.

EDIT: I have worked around the flickering and set up dual monitor horizontal span however the widescreen doesn't have very good resolution.

My question now is how can I get one monitor to play a video full screen while the other does something else or plays a game fullscreen

when u have dual monitors i think you have to have the same resolution on both screens. not sure tho. also when i hooked up a 17" with my 22" on my 8800gtx it was automatically 2 seperate screens so im not sure since i was tryin to get them as one screen.
